If you’re an athlete, you understand the pregame jitters. You also may understand the feeling you get at practice the week or two leading up to your first game of the season. I am no different than you, surprise, surprise.
As we are gearing up for this year’s lacrosse season and every practice gradually gets more crucial, I have realized that this is one of my favorite parts of the season. This time of the season is one of the most exciting. When you start to piece together your starting lineups and feel out the chemistry on your team, that is when everything starts to fall into place.
That is what practice has been building up as well for the past 100+ days. We have been working non-stop since October, and tomorrow is the official start of our season. We will be facing Homestead right here at Warren, and we could not be more excited. You can feel the excitement in the air when we’re running drills and scrimmaging in practice.
We have a lot of goals for this season, and our main one is to make it past the final round of Regionals in the state tournament. Every single year we get so close to getting past that one round, but we never do. We’re tired of it.
We’ve been giving our all in every practice and working on improving the chemistry on the team. Hopefully all of our hard work will pay off this season, and we will show everybody that we are a force to be reckoned with.
I can’t wait for this season, and there’s only one more sleep until WCGLAX is back in action.
Until next time,
